Implants are artificial structures that are placed in the area of the tooth where the root would usually be. Implants are attached to the jawbone to serve as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. Implants can also be used to attach dentures, if needed. Although they are made of metal or ceramic, today’s implants look and feel like natural teeth.
Not every patient is a suitable candidate for a dental implant; that said, the procedure has proven very successful among appropriate candidates.
We work with a board certified periodontist at our office to deliver great quality implants
A crown is an artificial cap placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are typically made of a material like porcelain, and are used to bring back a tooth’s utility and appearance after a dental procedure such as a root canal. When a tooth becomes so decayed that large pieces
In order for a crown to be placed on a tooth, the tooth typically must be reduced in size. The original tooth is casted and an impression is made, then sent to a lab where the customized crown is manufactured. Sometimes an interim crown is worn until the permanent crown is ready. The permanent crown is bonded to the tooth with cement, which holds it in place.
Similar to a crown, a veneer can also serve as a corrective measure for discolored, cracked, chipped, or worn teeth. A veneer is a special thin laminate that can also be used to narrow large gaps between teeth, as well as reverse years of staining on teeth, even in as little as two to three dental visits! Stronger and longer-lasting veneers made of porcelain are bonded to the tooth.
Prior to applying a veneer, an impression of the tooth must be created and the veneer crafted by a specialist. To make room for the veneer, a small amount of tooth enamel must be removed. For this reason, veneers cannot be removed. The veneer is adhered to the tooth using a special cement, and light treatment is utilized to complete the application.
Invisalign’s® invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners are the easiest and most discreet way to straighten your teeth. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move slowly, week by week, until they have straightened to the their final position.
Total treatment time averages 5 – 15 months but that will vary depending on the patient and the amount of tooth movement needed.
The aligners are made through a combination of our expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology.
